Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reports that on Friday, June 20, 2025, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Union City man for sex crimes involving a female juvenile.
66-year old Francisco Ruiz has been charged with sexual assault, a crime of the second degree; endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the first degree; endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the second degree; terroristic threats, a crime of the third degree; and criminal restraint, a crime of the third degree. He was arrested at a residence on Avenue C in Bayonne and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
Suarez says the crimes took place at the defendant’s Union City apartment in May 2025. The defendant threatened to harm the 10-year-old victim if she reported the crimes. The two are known as family acquaintances.
The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
