Union City Opens Up Cooling Centers Due to Extreme Heat

Union City, NJ.- Due to the impending extreme heat, Mayor Brian P Stack has announced the opening of cooling centers in Union City for residents seeking shelter from the heat and hot weather anticipated for Tuesday, July 16, 2019 through Tuesday July 23, 2019.

Cooling centers will be located at the following locations starting on July 16th through July 23rd.

  • William V. Musto Center — 420 15th st from 8am to 11pm Daily
  • 3700 Palisade Avenue (24 hours)

Residents should avoid prolonged exposure to the heat. The city is urging the homeless to seek shelter at a cooling center and for residents to check on the elderly and pets.
