The 9th annual, Union City International Ballet Festival, under the direction Mami Hariyama, featuring NY Dance Artistry, presented The Swan Lake on Saturday night at the Union City Performing Arts Center. The free event drew a large audience in Union City High School.
The performance featured both professional ballet dancers, as well as students from Hariyama’s ballet school in New York City who ranged in age from seven through high school.
It was an evening of cultural entertainment, part of Union City’s centennial celebration. The performance was The Swan Lake.
Everyone who attended had a wonderful experience, whether they were ballet lovers or novices.
Hariyama, who was born in Osaka, Japan and came to the United States a little over two decades ago, not only is a professional ballerina, but she is also a gifted pianist.
