Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for April 22, 2020
Union City’s confirmed cases are at 2,144 and sadly 103 residents have succumbed to the virus. We continue to keep the families of those who lost loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. More people are getting tested and treated than ever before. The more testing that occurs; the more lives are saved. Social distancing and mandatory masks in public places should continue.
Everyone is required to wear a mask or cloth face covering in public. This could vary from anything from a surgical mask, cloth mask, scarf or bandana. The important thing is to keep you nose and mouth covered. We are happy to announce that testing started taking place in the nursing homes in the city.
This will be very helpful in making that some of the most vulnerable of our population are tested and treated. This will help save lives. Please take time to check in with your family, friends and neighbors. Whether it is by phone, text messages, Facebook or other social media, please reach out to someone.
Having someone to talk to is very important, especially during this time and talking to someone can be so helpful. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to call my office at 201-348-5757 or my cell at 201-376-1942.
We are one Union City. We are stronger together and we will get through this together. God bless you and your family.
