The sidewalk and infrastructure improvements are continuing in Union City. Hudson Avenue from 32nd to 37th Streets will begin after Labor Day.
Work is wrapping up on Bergenline Avenue, as construction workers continue to install decorative, sidewalk tiles. Improved lighting along the heavily traveled thoroughfare, as well as decorative planters, have added to the aesthetics of the retail strip.
Mayor Brian Stack says the upgrades also increase the region’s public safety. Summit and Palisade Avenues have been completed. Bike lanes have been added. It all helps attract addition shoppers to the business districts.
The project is being paid for using Urban Enterprise Zone funding, monies approved by the Administration of Governor Phil Murphy and the State Legislature.
