Union City High School’s boys’ freshman soccer team recently received an afternoon of specialized training from two coaches with a Toronto-based company. The Canadian coaches founded Game Awareness, and they were invited to Union City by Commissioner Lucio Fernandez.
They spent an entire afternoon going over specific techniques with the squad, using technology in many of the drills.

The training session took place at the Midtown Athletic Field next to Jose Marti STEM Academy. Union City’s goal is to provide whatever instruction it can, from whereever it can, to its players, from the Recreation Program all the way through the varsity team at Union City High School.

The freshman team recently concluded its season, losing in the Hudson County Tournament in the final game. During the regular season, the boys freshman team from UCHS only lost once, to Kearny.
The rest of Hudson County’s soccer programs bewate. Union City is coming big time!!!!
