Wearing Masks On School Buses Will Remain In Place After March 7

Even though New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has announced that schools in the Garden State will no longer be required to have students and staff wear face masks after March 7, although schools can choose to keep the mandate in place if they choose, students will be required to wear masks beyond March 7 if they ride a school bus.

That’s because the federal government will still require that masks be worn on ALL school buses, just like the mandate for public transportation.  A spokeswoman for the Governor reiterated that the mask requirement on school buses is subject to federal regulations.

The school bus mask mandate applies no matter if the bus is publicly or privately owned.
