Motorists should be aware of milling and street paving construction scheduled for next week in Weehawken and its impact on local traffic. The construction is part of the final phase of the Weehawken & North Hudson Sewerage Authority Infrastructure Upgrade Project.
Roadway restoration work will be completed on the following streets between Monday, June 16, and Friday, June 20, 2025:
Streets Scheduled for Milling, Paving, and Striping:
• Blvd East (from 700 Blvd East to Hamilton Park – both directions and all lanes)
• Hamilton Avenue – Full Street
• Burr Place – Full Street
• Highwood Avenue (El Dorado to Blvd East)
• Highwood Avenue Basketball Court Area
This work includes milling, paving, and final roadway striping. It will take place daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, weather permitting, on the dates listed.
• There will be no parking or vehicular access on the affected streets while work is in progress.
• If your street is scheduled for work on a specific day, you cannot drive in or out during the work window.
• Police will be present to assist with access where possible and to help ensure public safety.

This final phase completes a $20 million sewer and pumping station project. The Township of Weehawken and the Sewage Authority jointly undertook this project to alleviate flooding in various neighborhoods.
