Continuing a commitment he made when he announced he was a candidate for Hudson County Executive, today Hudson County Executive Craig Guy announced a major repair for a heavily traveled roadway in the county.
“As County Executive, I am focused on improving the safety and infrastructure of our roads. To that end, several of the joints on the Willow Ave. Bridge in Weehawken are in severe disrepair. Currently, they may cause a hazard to motorists and bicyclists with loose concrete and exposed reinforcing bars. To help alleviate these issues, Hudson County has contracted Sparkwick Contracting Inc. to repair these joints on the Willow Ave. Bridge.”
Work crews will be on site starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1. According to county officials, work should last about a week, weather permitting. In order to cause as little disruption to traffic as possible, the work will be done daily during off-peak hours from 9:30am-3:30pm, with lane shifts maintaining a single lane in each direction at all times.
