West New York Commissioner Ruben Vargas Resigns

Commissioner Ruben Vargas of the Public Works Department submitted his resignation letter on January 22, 2015.  Vargas committed himself to the community several years ago and was elected in 2011.
“Due to personal circumstances, commissioner Vargas has chosen to leave his position that he has enjoyed and loved for over the past three and half years. He is thankful to the town of West New York for the many wonderful opportunities and great memories that he will take with him. He would like to thank the mayor and board of commissioners for having the opportunity to work with them and he will continue to work hard to make West New York a great place to live in Hudson County,” stated West New York’s spokesman, Pablo Fonseca.
No further details on his resignation are available at this time.

  1. Word on the street is the Vargas is under Federal investigation for issues related to his car dealership.
