The WNYPA will color code the monthly parking permits to kick off a health campaign educating the community about health and public safety topics.
WEST NEW YORK, NJ— The West New York Parking Authority will be changing the monthly parking permits and will be distributing health awareness fact sheets along with permits. These fact sheets will focus on various public health topics and safety tips that will vary each month. On each fact sheet, you will find an overview on various illnesses, public health concerns, symptoms to watch out for, as well as additional information, links and resources.
This campaign was created with the goal of providing the West New York community with more information on common illnesses and help raise awareness about several public health and safety topics. Acting Executive Director Amiris Perez commented, “At the West New York Parking Authority, we believe in giving back to the community, and see this as an opportunity to help promote health awareness.”
Topics will include the following:
March: Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month
April: Child Abuse Prevention Month
May: Lupus Awareness Month
June: National Safety Month
July: Sarcoma & Bone Cancer Awareness
August: Spinal Muscular Atrophy
September: Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
November: Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month & Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness
December: AIDS/HIV Awareness Month
