32-year old, West New York resident Joseph Suarez was sentenced to 15 years in state prison on Friday for an internet sex crime involving juveniles.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Judge Carlo Abad handed down the sentence after Suarez pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child facilitating child sex abuse material on October 20, 2023.
Suarez is ewquired to serve 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. He will be subject to Megan’s Law and parole supervision for the remainder of his life.
Prosecutor Suarez stated, “On January 10, 2023, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against ChildrenTask Force received information that child sex abuse material was being created and shared through the social media platform Discord.” The investigation determined that Suzrez communicated with a 13-year old boy outside of the state of New Jersey. Suarez instructed the boy to provide him with images and.or videos of himself committing sex acts on a four-year old girl.
After a court ordered search of Suarez’s residence, more than 1,000 files of child sex abuse materials were seized by law enforcement.
