West New York’s Recreation Department held its annual basketball awards dinner on Friday night, celebrating the accomplishments of some 300 youngsters this past winter season.
The event was held at the West New York Middle School. Awards for various age groups were presented, everything from most improved player, to most valuable player and best defensive player. There were many more awards as well.


The commitment to the winter, recreational basketball program bt Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners is evident, as a fourth grade division was added to the All-Star program, while an Elite program was added for the older grades as well.

Following the presentation of awards to the players, a catered, Cuban dinner was served. It was a night to remember for everyone involved, players and volunteer coaches alike.
