Different cuisines. Different locations. It’s all part of a West New York senior citizens’ group which travels statewide to please their taste buds, all with the blessing of Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners.
On Wednesday afternoon, the seniors’ luncheon was held in West New York. The food was Cuban. The monthly events have been held in numerous New Jersey counties and municipalities.

About 140 seniors attended Wednesday’s event, which also featured a DJ. Assemblyman Gabriel Rodriguez and Assembly candidate Larry Wainstein joined Commissioner Victor Barrera in helping the attendees enjoy the outing.

Two local pharmacies, Oak Street Health in Union City, and Contigo in West New York, were on hand to hand out pamphlets and various health-related items to those in attendance.

Past events have drawn upwards of 200 senior citizens. To learn where the next culinary visit will be, just contact Commissioner Barrera’s office in West New York Town Hall.
