WNY Welcomes Spring With Indoor Festival

Rainy Saturday weather forced West New York to move its spring festival inside the Middle School gymnasium, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of residents who enjoyed games, a bouncy house, popcorn, cotton candy and plenty of fun.

The event drew a few hundred people, children and adults alike.  Sponsored by the Town’s Recreation Department and Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners, the event also featured information on autism, as April is Autism Awareness Month.  The Easter Bunny was even on hand for families to take pictures.

Commissioner Adam Parkinson told Hudson TV that Mayor Sires wants to be able to provide as many services and activities to town residents as possible, and the spring festival was just one way to accomplish that.

So despite being forced to move the event from Miller Stadium to the gymnasium, the event went off without a hitch, including the yoga class.

All that’s left is for the weather to improve on a consistent basis and the temperatures to continue to rise as summer draws closer.
