Officers involved: Sgt. David DiMartino, Officer Joshua Campoverde
Charges: Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, Terroristic Threats, Criminal Mischief, Theft
At approximately 0025 hours, Officers responded to 6th and Washington Street on the report of an armed Robbery. While in route, Officers were provided a description of the actor who brandished a black handgun during the crime then fled South on Washington Street. When Officer Campoverde arrived he took note of the proceeds taken which were valued over $800.00 dollars. The proceeds included over $600.00 in cash and other merchandise for sale. According to the victim the actor showed a handgun and threatened to kill him if he did anything. The actor then collected the valuables and left. While gathering that information Sergeant David DiMartino observed a male fitting the description of the actor walking in the area of 6th and Grand Streets. As Sgt. DiMartino approached the potential suspect he noticed he was fumbling something in his jacket pocket. Sgt. Dimartino was able to safely stop a male who he identified as Angel Sanabria Jr. During the stop all proceeds of the crime were recovered along with a paintball gun.
Mr. Sanabria Jr. was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed.
Once complete with the arrest process Mr. Sanabria Jr. was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility
