34-year-old man found dead in West New York, suspect arrested in connection with death

 

Tragedy struck the town of West New York on Wednesday night as the lifeless body of 34-year-old Jose Cepeda was found with visible injuries to his upper body. Cepeda was pronounced dead at the scene, and the cause and manner of his death are currently under investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the West New York Police Department have launched an investigation and made an arrest in connection with the case. 36-year-old Wilfredo Flores of West New York has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, stemming from an interaction between Cepeda and Flores on or around the day before Cepeda’s death. It is possible that additional charges may be filed in the future.
