37-Year Old Guttenberg Woman Charged With Sexual Assault of 15-Year Old Boy

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

A 37-year-old Guttenberg woman has been charged and arrested for sexual assault of a 15-year- old boy. The victim is now 17 and the alleged crimes occurred over several months approximately two years ago.

Evelia Pena, age 37, of Guttenberg, was charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2C(4), a crime of the second degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(1), a crime of the third degree. She was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Monday, March 8, 2021 at approximately 4 p.m.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified of the alleged sexual assault of the boy when contacted by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP).

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
