North Bergen's Classic Car Show A Hit Again

For the fifth year in a row, the township of North Bergen hosted a Classic Car & Bike Show along Bergenline Avenue, opposite James J. Braddock Park, from 79th to 85th Streets on Saturday afternoon.  The street, which was closed to traffic, featured all types of cars, from muscle cars, to hot rods, to more antique styles.

The event was the idea of Freeholder Chairman Anthony Vainieri, who wanted to bring something different and fun to the local community.  Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the Board of Commissioners were all in favor of the event when the Chairman broached the idea, and it has become a big success since that first year.

Yesterday, Hudson TV broadcast live from the Car Show, which featured a new twist this time around.  Restaurants got to participate, as the highly successful Eat & Shop Local allowed them to expand their dining tables into the street, giving patrons the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, view the cars on display and have a terrific meal.

Based on the number of people who came out on Saturday, and the amount of cars on display for people to enjoy, it’s fairly safe to say that you can expect North Bergen to host this event again next year.
