Bayonne Shooting Under Investigation

Bayonne Police are investigating a shooting which took place 7:57 on Monday night on West 28th Street.  According to Captain Eric Amato, a 38-year old male had been shot several times with a handgun.

Because of the ongoing nature of the investigation, Captain Amato would not provide further details at this time, other than to report the victim was taken to the Bayonne Medical Center for treatment.

The shooter fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Amato says more information will be released at a future time.
