After coming in contact with a staff member who tested positive for COVID-19, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal is quarantining at home. The announcement was made on Wednesday.
According to Grewal’s Communications Director Steven Barnes, New Jersey’s top law enforcement official got a positive result in a rapid COVID-19 test. He then tested negative in a follow-up.
Barnes says Grewal is asymptomatic. The Attorney General will continue to work virtually from his home in Glen Rock.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases are up all across the state, as are hospitalizations, as the second wave is here. Tuesday saw the highest number of new, daily, COVID-19 cases since April, 3,877. It also had the highest death toll since mid-summer. The counties with the highest number of new cases are Bergen, Essex and Hudson.
