U.S. House of Representatives Passes President Biden's Bipartisan Build Back Better Infrastructure Framework

Last night, the United States House of Representatives passed President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better, bipartisan infrastructure deal.   The $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that represents a key piece of President Biden’s domestic agenda.

New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr., stated,  “I would like to thank the members of our congressional delegation for their continued good faith negotiations in recent weeks and their willingness to work together towards our common goal of delivering for New Jersey and for the American people. The Bipartisan Infrastructure bill that passed the House last night will have a transformative impact on our state — it includes full funding for the Gateway Tunnel project which is essential to our economic future, as well as support for public transportation, broadband internet access, lead remediation and so much more. This package will create millions of quality, good paying jobs and help us continue our economic recovery from the pandemic, which already seems to be accelerating.

Now that the Infrastructure bill is passed, we must turn our attention to finishing the job and passing the President’s Build Back Better agenda. From guaranteeing national public Pre-K to taking steps to address the climate crisis, to cutting taxes for middle class families and lowering costs for healthcare, childcare, prescription drugs and more, the Biden agenda will improve the lives of the American people and help fulfill our promise as Democrats to deliver results for the communities we serve. I am hopeful that we will see this agenda enacted soon with the full support of our congressional delegation.”

The bill now heads to the President’s desk for his signature.
