The Union City Board of Education already has an ROTC program for students interested in military careers, discipline and structure. Now, there’s a new, National Young Marines Program at the Emerson Middle School.
The program teaches leadership, patriotism, team building and physical fitness. Part of a national organization that allows boys and girls, ages 8 through the completion of high school, to develop mental, moral and physical disciplines and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, the program focuses on youth education and service while helping build character and leadership traits that will last throughout the youngster’s lives.
