Prosecutor Charges Jersey City Man With Sexually Assaulting Juvenile Girl He Met Online

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has announced the second arrest today of an individual from Jersey City who has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl.  According to Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Monday, February 28, 2022, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Ali Ibrahim, 19, of Jersey City, on charges relating to the sexual assault of a teenage girl he met online.

The crimes occurred at Ibrahim’s Jersey City apartment in January and February of this year when the victim was 13 and 14 years old.

Ibrahim is charged with sexual assault, a crime of the second degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the third degree. He was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first court appearance.

The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a detention motion, which is tentatively scheduled to be heard on March 4, 2022. Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
