Photo & Video Credit: Secaucus Police Department (You Tube) The Secaucus Police Department has a new Detective. A few days ago Chief Dennis Miller was proud to present Sergeant Matthew Ford with his Detective Sergeant’s badge.
In an email to Hudson TV, Chief Miller had overwhelming praise for Detective Sergeant Ford, who joined the Secaucus Police Department on October 16, 2009. Miller stated, “He was assigned to our patrol division until I transferred him to the newly created Anti-Crime Unit, where he was a founding member in the Spring of 2020.”
Chief Miller went on to say, “He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on April 1, 2021 and transferred to the Patrol Division. As of February 2022 I reassigned him as a Detective Sergeant to supervise the Ant-Crime Unit, due to his hard work, dedication and continued proactive police efforts throughout his career.”
You might remember the recent incident when a Secaucus building was on fire and a baby was tossed out of a window. Well, Chief Miller told me, “If you look back on our Facebook he was the one who caught the child thrown from the 2nd floor window when the apartment was on fire at 2 Radio Avenue.
That incident happened last June, with Officers Stephen Hurtuk and Matthew Garzone assisting Ford in catching and comforting the 4-year old boy.
