Hudson County Prosecutor Investigating Discovery of Male Found Floating In Passaic River in Kearny

Photo Credit:  Google Maps                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced this morning that a male was found floating in the Passaic River around 6:19 last night in Kearny.  According to Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Kearny Police Department received a 911 call reporting a man was found floating in the Passaic River in the area of Passaic Avenue and the Belleville Turnpike.

The Kearny Police Department and the Kearny Fire Department arrived at the scene and confirmed the lifeless body of a man had been recovered. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man has not yet been identified. The Cause and Manner of death of are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Kearny Police Department are actively investigating this case.
