Bergen County Prosecutor Charges North Bergen Man With Unlicensed Practice of Physical Therapy

 Photo Credit:  twitter.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced that 48-year old, Kim Pozharsky, the CEO/Founder of Personal Care Professionals of North Bergen has been charged with the unlicensed practice of physical therapy. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Musella says that on Monday, April 19, 2021, detectives from the Bergen County                Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit received information that Pozharsky, the CEO/Founder of Personal Care Professionals sports rehabilitation and medical wellness center, also known as First Step Solutions, Inc. and Kinu, Inc., formerly located at 935 River Road in Edgewater was treating patients as a physical therapist without a license.

The investigation revealed that Pozharsky performed physical therapy treatments on patients of Personal Care Professionals while unlicensed, and that he has never been licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of New Jersey.   Pozharsky was previously disciplined by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and barred from holding himself out to the public as a physical therapist or participating in any aspect of the care and treatment of patients.

On Monday, March 14, 2022, Poaharsky was processed at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office on three counts of third-degree unlicensed practice of physical therapy and released on his own recognizance pending a future Central Judicial Processing Court hearing.

Prosecutor Musella adds that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, for its assistance in this investigation.
