The tiny, Jersey City school was the first 15 seed to ever advance to the Elite 8 and the first MAC Conference team to do so, but the Peacocks were never in today’s game, trailing by 20 points for the majority of the contest.

That does not take away from the school’s miracle run in the tournament.  Governor Phil Murphy summed up the feelings of everyone from the school, Jersey City and the state of New Jersey, by tweeting at the games’ conclusion, “So proud of Saint Peter’s University Athletics Men’s Basketball and Coach Shaheen Holloway – inspiring us with their historic run and showing the entire nation what Jersey is about.”

Congratulations to St. Peter’s University for giving us a few, very, very exciting weeks of outstanding, men’s college basketball.  It was a hell of a ride!!!!

Hold your heads high and proud.  You DESERVE it!!!!!
