Shooting At American Dream Mall in East Rutherford

Photo Credit:  NBC News TV 4                                                                                                                                                                                                                   One person is confirmed shot this evening in the parking lot of the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford.  According to various news sources, the incident happened sometime before 6 pm, with the victim walking inside the mall.  New Jersey State Police were being assisted by at least one law enforcement agency from Hudson County, the Secaucus Police Department.

Police immediately put the mall on lockdown.  Reports say the male victim was shot twice in the chest and the gunman fled, possibly in a red Audi.  A source reportedly told NBC News that there may be three suspects in total in what could have been a targeted attack.

New Jersey State Police reported that the victim was conscious and breathing and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing at this hour.  Officials are saying it appears to be an isolated incident and not an active shooter situation.
