According to Hoboken Detective / Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, one man was shot last night shortly before midnight. Cabrera says on Sunday, May 01, shortly before midnight, Hoboken Police Officers responded to a confirmed shooting in the area of 4th and Jackson Street.
A preliminary police investigation shows that an unknown person exited a vehicle, the victim turned and faced the person, at which time the suspect fired one shot, striking the victim in the abdomen. Police Officers Kyle Seper, Jonathan Figueroa, and Aaron Font responded to the victim and provided aid along with the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The victim has been identified as a 20-year-old male from Hoboken. The weapon believed to be used was a 45-caliber handgun.
