During last week’s Bayonne City Council meeting, Assistant Law Director Donna Russo was appointed Business Administrator. Suzanne Cavanaugh, who previously worked as a Community Health Nurse at the Health Department, was appointed the new Municipal Services Director.
Both women were appointed by Mayor Jimmy Davis after consultation with the City Council.
Russo fills the post which was vacated by former Administrator Melisa Mathews. Mathews resigned after Bayonne officials failed to renew her contract as Business Administrator back in June. Since that time, Russo has been the Acting Business Administrator.
Meanwhile, Cavanaugh replaced Tim Boyle. Mayor Davis asked Boyle to resign after he was accused of secretly recording other city hall employees. Gary Chmielewski had been serving as acting Municipal Services Director until the Cavanaugh appointment.
