Participants must first register to utilize the pool at Hoboken.RecDesk.com. Registration will open on Monday, July 3, at 9 a.m.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or have a waiver from their parent or legal guardian to use the pool without an adult present.

By opening the pool doors to the public, the city aims to enhance the overall quality of life for its residents. Accessible and well-maintained aquatic facilities offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for physical fitness, stress relief, and social interactions. The extended open pool hours cater to individuals and families, providing a space for recreation and relaxation throughout the summer season.

Furthermore, this initiative aligns with the city’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and community well-being. The availability of open pool hours at Hoboken High School encourages residents to incorporate swimming and water-based activities into their regular exercise routines. Swimming is a low-impact form of exercise that offers numerous health benefits, such as cardiovascular fitness, improved muscle strength, and enhanced flexibility.

The extended open pool hours also serve as a valuable resource for the local youth, providing them with a safe and supervised environment for recreational activities during the summer break. By offering an alternative to sedentary pastimes, the initiative aims to promote physical activity among young residents, fostering a generation that values active living and healthy habits.

The pool capacity is capped at 20 swimmers, and access will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. A lifeguard will be on duty during all open hours.
