NJ Transit’s Board of Commissioners recently announced plans for a proposed 15% fare hike to take effect on July 1st. Last July the agency announced a preliminary FY2025 budget containing a deficit of $119 million.
As a result, NJ Transit, much to the dismay of riders and numerous elected officials, announced plans for the fare increase.
A series of ten public hearings will take place next month on the proposal, with one of the hearings scheduled to be held in Hudson County. On Friday, March 8th a public hearing will take place in Secaucus at the Frank R. Lautenberg Station between 10 a.m and 12 noon.
