Bhalla Files Amicus Brief in Support of Upholding Court Decision Abolishing County Line

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, Democratic candidate for the 8th District, United States House of Representatives seat in the upcoming June Primary, along with Patricia Campos-Medina and Jerry Speziale, today announced they had filed an amicus curiae brief supporting a federal judge’s decision to abolish the county line and in opposition to the stay of that decision requested by County Clerks

The brief was filed with the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Bhalla is challenging incumbent Congressman Rob Menendez, Jr. in the June 4th Primary.

In a statement, Bhalla said, “It is essential that the landmark decision leveling the playing field in New Jersey Democratic primaries is not reversed.  We must now safeguard this long overdue development that ensures fairness and a true democracy in our primaries, free from the control of party bosses.”
