Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato reports that the detective bureau is investigating the discovery of a credit card skimmer at the local Walmart.
In a statement to the media, Amato says, “I have received requests for information related to reports of a credit card skimmer being detected at Walmart. I can confirm that on 04/09/2024 at 2203 hours, a customer detected, what is believed to be, a credit card skimmer installed on a credit card reader of a self-checkout register kiosk. The skimmer was recovered as evidence and the matter remains under investigation by the Bayonne Police Detective Bureau.”
Captain Amato adds that no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
