Jersey City, NJ – Three men have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, robbery, and kidnapping in Jersey City. Mohamed Mohamed, 24, Abdalla Abdelsalam Elsayed, 20, and Mahmoud Hegazi, 18, face a litany of charges following an incident where two women were reportedly assaulted and robbed in an apartment on Bergen Avenue.
The incident, which took place on September 11, came to light when the victims contacted the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. According to the prosecutor’s office, the women had arranged to meet the suspects at the apartment, where they were subsequently held against their will. During this ordeal, the victims were sexually assaulted, threatened with a firearm, and had money stolen from them.
The charges against the trio include first-degree offenses like Aggravated Sexual Assault, Robbery, and Kidnapping, along with second and third-degree crimes such as Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Terroristic Threats. The severity of these charges reflects the grave nature of the allegations.
Following their arrest on September 20 at their respective homes, all three men are currently detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility. The State has moved to keep them detained pending trial, with a hearing scheduled for September 25, 2024.
