WEST NEW YORK, NJ Christopher Ortiz, a 37-year-old resident of West New York, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile, according to an announcement by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
The arrest took place on Friday, October 18, following an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. The allegations stem from an incident reported to have occurred in the early hours of March 11, 2024. According to the victim, a 14-year-old female, she was approached by an unknown male and subsequently entered his vehicle, where she was then taken to his residence and assaulted.
Christopher Ortiz faces multiple charges, including Sexual Assault, a second-degree crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); Endangering the Welfare of a Child, classified as a third-degree crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and Criminal Sexual Contact, a fourth-degree crime as per N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b. After his arrest at his home, Ortiz was transported to the Hudson County Correction Facility where he awaits his first court appearance.
