The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, January 3, 2025.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez says that just before 8:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road in Jersey City. According to a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office, “Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as Rahmiere Morris, 20, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m. The Cause and Manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.”
Suarez says the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this incident. As of 9:30 Saturday night, no arrests have been made.
