According to a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office, shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, the North Bergen Police Department was notified of an unresponsive male inside a second floor residence at 9028 Palisade Plaza.  When police officers arrived at the scene, they located the lifeless body of a male, later identified as 48-year old Juan Moyet of North Bergen.   Moyet was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3:50 p.m.  The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded and determined the victim suffered an apparent head injury.

Two days later, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, a post-mortem exam was conducted that determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head.  The manner of death was determined to be homicide.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the arrest to the Homicide Unit, with assistance by the Gang Task Force, Hudson County Regional SWAT, the Union City Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service.

The above charges against Delgado are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
