It was a special day for the Harrison Police Department on Thursday, as twelve new police officers, including two former officers from other jurisdictions, were sworn in.
In a Facebook post, the town wrote, “Resident safety is the top priority in Harrison and Mayor James A Fife, the Harrison Town Council, along with Chief David Strumolo & the Harrison Police Department, welcome 12 new Harrison Police officers to keep our community safe!”
The two previous police officers are former Newark officer Michael Barbosa and former Hudson County Sheriff’s Department officer Christopher Maitin. The new, first time recruits are:

• Anthony Cecere
• Miguelangel Cosme
• Mouhamed Diouf
• Carl Gangi
• Connor McClelland
• Alex Naprawa
• Daniel Soltis
• Matthew Titterington
The Mayor and Council, as well as the Department, wished the new officers a safe and successful career.
