Weehawken Promotes Six Police Officers

During a ceremony held at Weehawken High School on Tuesday night, six police officers were promoted, three to the rank of sergeant and three to the rank of lieutenant.

The Police Department has a total of 55 officers at the present time.  According to Mayor Richard Turner, crime in the township is at 1970 levels.  Promoted to the rank of lieutenant were Sergeants Joseph Poole, Daniel Lopez and Joseph LoRocco.

 

              Promoted to their first supervisory ranks, that of Sergeant, were officers Francesco Mezzina, Randy Hablitz and Michael Solano.

 

The Township’s Police force will be adding eight officers next month.  The new officers will be attending the Passaic County Police Academy for training.
