Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced the arrest of a 42-year old Jersey City man for sex crimes involving a female juvenile. Suarez reports that on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Hudson County Regional S.W.A.T. arrested Charles Bordeaux.
Bordeaux has been charged with sexual assault by contact, a crime of the second degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the third degree. Bordeaux was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. Bordeaux had an outstanding warrant from Jersey City at the time of his arrest.
According to the Prosecutor, the crimes took place in January 2024 in a private residence. The 11-year-old female victim did not know the defendant, though he was known to an individual who lived in the apartment where the crimes occurred.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit, Hudson County Regional S.W.A.T., and the Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
