West New York officials gathered in front of Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate Pride Month with a flag raising ceremony.
Joining them were approximately 40 members of the LGBTQ+ community. Commissioners Adam Parkinson, Mariekla Diaz and Victor Barrera, as well as Assemblyman Gabriel Rodriguez, Public Safety Director Henry Codina and Town Business Administrator Luis Baez, were in attendance.

Commissioner Parkinson spoke of Mayor Albio Sires’ commitment to inclusion for all residents of the municipality, adding that while major strides have been taken towards the LGBTQ+ community in recent years, much more needs to be done.

Following remarks, the multi-colored Pride flag was raised to applause by those in attendance.
Officials said West New York will continue to advance its efforts so all groups feel welcome in town.
