Bayonne Historical Society President Lee Fahley has announced that due to circumstances beyond its control, the September 9th Jackson-Belle program has been cancelled. However, there will be a program on September 9th in the O’Connor Gallery of the Bayonne Public Library at 7 PM.

The new program speaker will be Jersey City Public Library Manager Dan Klein.  His presentation will be about genealogical resources in the Jersey Room of the library.  Klein will describe the various books, images, maps, manuscripts, and digital holdings that are available to researchers.

One of the series of books that the Jersey Room has in its collection are Silver Books published by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. To date, there are 25 volumes available from the society. The New Jersey Society of Mayflower Descendants has donated several volumes to the library.

The September 9th program is open to the public, including interested residents of other communities. Light refreshments will be served by the Bayonne Women’s Club. The society will have available their brochure and membership envelopes.

The Bayonne Historical Society asks that you “Like” the group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/p/Bayonne-NJ-Historical-Society.  Any inquires can be sent to Lee Fahley at LF70NJ@aol.com.

The Bayonne Public Library is located at 31st Street and Avenue C.  The meeting will be held in the 2nd Floor Gallery.
