Hispanic cultures were celebrated on Sunday afternoon, as the 50th annual, Hispanic State Parade of New Jersey marched its way down Bergenline Avenue from North Bergen to Union City.
Many groups and organizations took part in the gala festivities, including a procession of 25 floats. According to Parade President Mayra Dominguez, it was the largest number in the event’s existence.
Many elected officials marched their way along Bergenline Avenue, including New Jersey’s Democratic and Republican gubernatorial nominees, Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill and former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli.
The parade truly represents what Hudson County is all about; many different Hispanic nations coming together as one to celebrate their cultures and customs. Participants and and parade-goers waved their homeland’s flags, dressed in colorful attire and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon under clear skies and an unseasonably warm, October temperature.
