The Climate Club at Weehawken High School has opened a thrift store to raise money for the Jane Goodall Foundation.  This is the fourth year the club has collected clothing for the store.

All of the donated clothing items sell for just one dollar, with the money going to the Goodall Foundation.

In addition to learning how to run a retail operation, the students in the Climate Club are learning the importance of sustainability and earning community service hours.

On December 3rd the Club is partnering with the Hudson County Improvement Authority for a smart shopping presentation.  It’s a way for the students to continue promoting the importance of a clean environment.

The Climate Club features some 40 students, with art teacher Elizabeth McParland acting as its advisor.
