A press release from the West New York Police Department indicates the community is a bit less “seedy” this afternoon.
Detectives from the Police Department recently arrested four individuals on prostitution related charges following multiple complaints from residents about suspected illicit activity in the area of the 5200 block of Bergenline Avenue. Community members had reported frequent suspicious behavior consistent with prostitution and related criminal conduct.
In response to those concerns, the West New York Police Anti-Crime Unit conducted an investigation. On Friday, November 21, 2025, detectives arrested the following individuals:

• Miriam Perez-Bailon, age 36, of Queens, NY, was charged with Prostitution
• Karen Correa, age 32, of Newark, was charged with Prostitution
• Noe Gigales, age 48, of North Bergen, was charged with Promoting Prostitution and Maintaining a Nuisance
• Luis Ernesto Martinez-Cerritos, age 53, of West New York, was charged with Promoting Prostitution and Maintaining a Nuisance
West New York Police Director Henry Codina stated, “Our residents play a critical role in helping us keep neighborhoods safe. We take every community concern seriously, and these arrests demonstrate our department’s commitment to responding swiftly and effectively. We will continue to work closely with the public to address quality of life issues and ensure that illegal activity has no place in our town.”
All four individuals were taken to the West New York Police Department for processing and released on summonses pending a court appearance. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact tips@wnypdnj.org. Tips may be submitted anonymously.
