The playground in West New York’s Donnelly Park along Boulevard East at 60th Street has been renovated.

There is new safety padding on the ground to keep children safe if they fall.  There’s all new playground equipment, including a huge jungle gym with a slide, new swings and a circular contraption which spins around and allows children to sit while spinning.

The renovations were paid for using a state grant.  The adjacent dog park has also been renovated, allowing your pet to run around, have fun and exercise.  The dog park is divided into areas for both large and small animals.

When Hudson TV stopped by on Thursday for the unveiling of the new site, Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners beamed with pride, saying the playground had become run down with many residents calling for impeovements.

The parents and children in attendance all seemed to enjoy the improvements.  They thanked the elected officials for making Donnelly Park, which overlooks the Palisades and the Hudson River, the best recreational spot it can be.
