Hundreds of Union City Senior Citizens Celebrate Valentine’s Day

An overflow crowd of approximately 400 Union City senior citizens celebrated Valentine’s Day at the Colin Powell Elementary School on Saturday.
There was music and dancing, a hot lunch featuring chicken and rice served by members of the High School’s Junior ROTC and Young Marines Program, and even an impromptu dance contest.
All in all, the seniors had a wonderful time courtesy of the Mayor Brian Stack, the Board of Commissioners, the city’s Department of Senior Affairs and the many volunteers who organized the annual event, which may have been the most well attended ever.
The crowd was so large, some of the senior citizens had to be seated in a second room outside of the gymnasium.  But that didn’t seem to matter, as conversations were had, friendships were renewed and a good time was enjoyed by everyone in attendance.
Hug the one you love!!!
