Hudson County Executive Craig Guy has presented the county’s 2026 budget to the Board of County Commissioners. According to a press release from the county, the spending plan highlights Hudson County’s strong financial standing with continued investment in critical services and support for residents facing economic challenges.
Guy acknowledged the financial pressures facing governments nationwide, including rising healthcare costs and reductions in federal funding support, but stressed that Hudson County remains committed to protecting vulnerable residents and preserving essential county programs.

“This budget upholds fiscal responsibility while maintaining the same high-quality services our residents have come to expect from the county. Our bond rating is AA; by all standards, the highest quality rating. Our county faces real financial challenges, from rising healthcare costs to cuts in federal social services, but this budget ensures Hudson County remains on strong financial footing while continuing to deliver the first-rate services our residents depend on every day,” said County Executive Guy.
The budget also continues funding for employee obligations and county services without layoffs, while maintaining oversight of spending and investments. The County Executive added that Hudson County will continue working with municipal, state, and federal partners to support residents and strengthen communities across the county.
Guy added, “I truly believe a budget reflects a community’s values. Compassion for those who are most vulnerable, resources for those who need them, and services that benefit every member of our community – all of these are Hudson County values represented in this budget.”
